Scholar-in-Residence Programme is a featured initiative of the Korea Centre, designed to bring a senior Korean professor to the MG University Campus. This program aims to provide an enriching educational experience for both students and the public through a series of classroom and public lectures delivered by the distinguished scholar.

The Scholar-in-Residence Programme serves as a platform to promote cultural exchange, academic collaboration, and the dissemination of knowledge about Korean culture, history, and academic expertise. By inviting a senior Korean professor to the MG University Campus, the program offers students and the wider community an opportunity to engage directly with an esteemed scholar who possesses extensive knowledge and experience in their respective field.

During their residency, the senior Korean professor will deliver a series of classroom lectures, enriching the learning experience of students in various academic disciplines. These lectures can cover a wide range of topics, including Korean history, politics, economics,  or any other subject related to Korea’s rich cultural heritage.

In addition to the classroom lectures, the scholar will also conduct public lectures, which are open to both the university community and the general public. These public lectures aim to foster a broader understanding and appreciation of Korean culture and academia among a wider audience. The topics covered in these lectures can vary and may include discussions on contemporary issues, cultural traditions, societal changes, or any other subject of relevance and interest.

The Scholar-in-Residence Programme offers an invaluable opportunity for students to engage in meaningful discussions, gain insights from an expert in the field, and broaden their understanding of Korea and its contributions to various academic disciplines. It also allows the general public to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the visiting professor, fostering cultural understanding and intellectual growth within the community.

By facilitating direct interaction with a senior Korean professor through classroom and public lectures, the Scholar-in-Residence Programme at the Korea Centre aims to create a vibrant intellectual environment, promote cross-cultural understanding, and strengthen academic ties between MG University and Korea.
