On September 24-25, 2025, Korea Centre, SIRP, Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai and Post Graduate & Research Department of Political Science, Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur, organized the Korean Film Festival-2025 at Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur. The two-day festival commenced with an inauguration ceremony on September 24 at the VVR Auditorium. Dr. K. Jayanisha, Principal in Charge, delivered the presidential address, while Dr. Rajesh M.R., HOD of Malayalam Department and noted film critique, provided the inaugural address. Dr. Jewel John Alappatt welcomed the gathering, and Dr. Brilly Raphel offered special remarks on Korean cinema. The festival showcased four acclaimed Korean films: Fengshui (2018), Book of Fish (2014), Sunset in My Hometown (2018), and Luck-key (2015), providing audiences with diverse perspectives on Korean culture and storytelling. The valedictory session on September 25 featured distinguished guests including Mr. Jehyoung LEE, Deputy Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, and Dr. Jojin V John, Director of Korea Centre, MGU. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Pramod C.R., HOD of Political Science Department, marking a successful celebration of Korean cinema and cultural exchange.
