We are excited to announce that the Korea Centre, SIRP, Mahatma Gandhi University is now accepting applications for a summer internship program, tailored for students currently pursuing or who have completed their Master’s, as well as early-stage PhD students with an interest in Korean Studies.

This research-oriented internship provides an opportunity to delve into a topic of your choosing in the field of Korean Studies (Eg. Any aspects of India-Korea Relations, Korean Wave in India/Kerala, Image of Korea Among Youth in India etc). At the end of the internship period, interns are expected to produce a short research paper of publishable quality, comprising approximately 2,500 words.

Throughout the course of the internship, interns will receive invaluable mentorship from a seasoned research scholar affiliated with the Korea Centre, who will guide the intern in exploring and elucidating their chosen subject.

Upon successful submission and acceptance of the research paper, it will be published as an Issue Brief/Edited volume. Furthermore, the successful interns will be awarded a Certificate of Completion along with a Cash award of Rs 5,000/- as an acknowledgment of their contributions.

Eligibility:

  • Currently pursuing or who have completed their Master’s, as well as early-stage PhD students with an interest in Korean Studies.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.

Required Application Materials:

  • Your most recent resume/CV with contact details.
  • A copy of the Student Identity Card.
  • A research topic you intend to pursue and a brief abstract (not more than 250 words).
  • A statement of interest, outlining your reasons for applying to this internship (Not more than 200 words)
