The Korea Centre at the School of International Relations and Politics, Mahatma Gandhi University, supported by Korea Foundation, Republic of Korea is organising an international conference on March 14, 2024, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and South Korea. Titled “Celebrating 50 Years of India-Republic of Korea Relations: Opportunities and Challenges in the Indo-Pacific Era”, this conference will bring together policymakers, diplomats, academics, and students to reflect on the evolution of bilateral relations over the past five decades and discuss the future trajectory.

The event will be inaugurated by Prof. C T Aravindakumar, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University. The event will also feature eminent speakers from India and Korea, including Mr. KIM Chang-nyun, Consul General of South Korea in Chennai, who will deliver the keynote address. Four renowned Korean professors will also share their insights on different dimensions of the partnership. This conference aims to generate meaningful deliberations, analyses, and recommendations to further strengthen the future-oriented India-Korea strategic partnership in the backdrop of a dynamic Indo-Pacific region.
